That Moment When Fear Strikes
True story! I was exploring around the Bay of Green Bay and happened on this duck. I snuck up on it and it didn't move. Then, I thought to myself - hey wait a minute.... is it duck season? Is that a decoy?
Well, holy hell! The thought just popped into my head and gunshots rang out. Close. Too close to me. I heard the whizzing sound. Yelling hey, there are people on shore!!!
I dropped to the ground as quickly as I could. Ok, I KNOW, I should have the seasons straight. Although, I also believe that hunters should NOT shoot toward shore, EVEN if it is the offseason at Bay Beach.
I'm not stating they shouldn't be hunting, nor I am against it. I come from a long line of relatives that hunt and fish. Some people just need a reminder that there ARE people on shore.
For those of us that venture out to explore wildlife, we also have to remember we SHARE the natural resources with other people that may be out for different purposes. Let my occurrence be a reminder for both parties.
